Removal requests and the DMCA procedure

1. What InstaViewer holds

InstaViewer does not host Instagram material. For each submitted username, the browser of the visitor fetches the public content live via an external data provider, and the result exists in that browser alone. InstaViewer retains no copy and maintains no list of accounts, so it has no mechanism for excluding a particular handle or item from lookups.

2. Removal on Instagram

Content ceases to be retrievable through any viewer, InstaViewer included, as soon as it is no longer public on Instagram. That outcome is reached in one of two ways:

  1. Account owner: switches the profile to private or deletes the item concerned (story, post or highlight).
  2. Rights holder: files a report with Instagram through its intellectual property or general reporting forms.

No lookup reuses an earlier result; the next one after such a change already reflects it.

Copyright notices addressed to info@instaviewer.io are answered by InstaViewer, as a rule within 48 hours. Elements required in a DMCA notice:

  1. identification of the work and the Instagram URL of the item;
  2. a good-faith declaration that no authorisation was given for the use;
  3. a statement, subject to the penalties for perjury, confirming that the notice is correct and that you own the rights or are authorised to act for their owner;
  4. contact details for the reply.

Where a detail is missing, InstaViewer asks for it instead of rejecting the notice.

4. What InstaViewer acts on

InstaViewer controls its own page copy and brand graphics. When a valid notice relates to one of them, the passage or file in question is corrected or removed, and the sender receives written confirmation. A notice concerning Instagram content is answered with the two ways described in section 2.

5. Counter-notices

A counter-notice may be sent to the address above by anyone who believes InstaViewer’s own material was altered on the basis of an incorrect notice. It should give contact details, identify the material and state why the alteration was unjustified. InstaViewer forwards it to the sender of the original notice.
